It’ll be Cold Tonight Boy!

A yellow weather warning is in place for ice tonight with temperatures dropping to near or sub zero.

The areas most at risk are the eastern, southern and central parts of the island, particularly the central valley and Mountain Road.

Ronaldsway Met Office Air temperatures will fall this evening close to zero, leading to sub-zero surface temperatures in places and a risk of ice.

Following showers today and still with runoff/water on some of the island’s roads, there is a risk that these wet/damp areas will turn icy.

Northern and western parts of the island should be at a lower risk given the strong onshore northerly winds.

Temperatures will remain cold throughout the day on Wednesday and this warning may require extending.
