The World Downhill Skateboarding Championship (WDSC) returns to the island this weekend, with 32 athletes from 17 nations competing on a new Mountain Road course.
Racing will run from Joey’s Corner, below Guthrie’s Memorial, to Barrule Park beneath the Ramsey Hairpin on 4-5 July. The Isle of Man is represented by local riders Jack Killey and Juan Callister.
The event marks the second stop of a four-season series, following the opener in Turkey. The standings see Andy Lally (USA) leading the Luge category, while Antoine Carlotti (France) tops the Open Skateboard rankings.
A new Race Village opposite Ramsey Bus Station will serve as a hub for fans and media. Friday features registration and an autograph session, with Saturday’s qualifying runs seeing athletes descend individually against the clock. Sunday’s Championship Tour racing begins at 2pm, with four-athlete heats advancing through knockout rounds.
