The Manx National Farmers Union has encouraged members of the farming community to prioritise their mental health going into the New Year.
It encourages members of its community to not be “afraid to reach out for extra support if things get tough as your mental health matters”.
In a statement it says: “It’s okay not to be okay. This isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign that you are human.”

Amongst industry struggles in agriculture, the farming community is mourning the sad loss of 22-year-old Robert Kissack.
Robert was involved in a fatal RTC in the early hours of December 29 on the Whitebridge Road in Onchan.
One of a Kind
Isle of Man Young Farmers also paid tribute to Robert after his tragic death.
The Young Farmers said: “We are absolutely heartbroken to learn of the sudden death of a member of our Young Farmers family, Robert Kissack.
“Robert was a member of Eastern Young Farmers, a character that lit up a room wherever he went and was always on hand for field day and show set ups and everything else in between.
“He embodied the spirit of Young Farmers and there will never be another like him, he was truly one of a kind.
“The biggest heart with a smile to match. From our Young Farmers family, we send our heartfelt condolences to Robert’s family and friends, of whom he had so many.”
