Kirsty Raises Thousands For Samaritans

Kirsty Knight has helped raise more than £6,000 for Samaritans through a series of community fundraising events over the past year.

Kirsty who is Head of Compliance for Barclays Bank in the Isle of Man and a volunteer listener with Samaritans, led a range of initiatives including a bag pack, raffle, cake sale and charity quiz.

Supported by colleagues and Barclays’ matched funding programme, the events raised £5,260, taking the total raised to more than £6,000.

Alongside fundraising, the activities also helped raise awareness of the charity’s work providing confidential emotional support to people experiencing distress, loneliness or mental health challenges.

Knight said she was overwhelmed by the generosity shown by colleagues, friends and the wider Isle of Man community, adding that every pound raised helps Samaritans continue supporting people when they need it most.

She said her own experiences had shown her the importance of being listened to without judgement and inspired her to volunteer with the charity.
