KPMG raises over £21,600 for Live At Home

Staff at KPMG in the Crown Dependencies have raised £21,611.82 for Live At Home, the firm’s chosen charity during 2023.

The money was raised across a range of activities organised over the past year, including dress-down days, cake sales and office raffles.

The Prom Relay raised over £12,000 alone and continues to be a favourite event in the fundraising calendar, with circa 300 runners taking part in July.

In addition, the proceeds from two quiz nights, supported by local corporate teams, also raised an extra £3,700.

Live at Home Scheme

The Manx charity was established in 1988 to enable members to live happily at home for as long as they can and aims to improve the quality of life and eliminate isolation and loneliness among the island’s elderly population.

The charity also provides the elderly with reassurance that there is always someone they can turn to for help, advice, or simply a chat.

Kristan King, Head of Citizenship for the Isle of Man at KPMG in the Crown Dependencies, said:

“We’re delighted to be able to make this contribution to Live At Home and, as usual, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of our people here at KPMG, the local community and our regular corporate sponsors.

Kristan King, Head of Citizenship for the Isle of Man at KPMG in the Crown Dependencies,

“Our fundraising efforts also wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers who give up their time to make sure the fundraising events are a success.”

2024 chosen charity

As one fundraising partnership comes to a close, KPMG has announced that its next chosen charity will be Arlo’s Adventure.

Arlo’s Adventure has two primary focuses which are:

  • To assist Manx residents who require treatment in hospitals in the UK and their family members including meeting the costs of transport and accommodation;
  • To support bereaved families by raising awareness of the effects of the loss of a child or a pregnancy, through the provision of emotional and practical support to Manx families.

The charity, Arlo’s Adventure also has a book, which was written by Sarah Owen after the loss of her son, who was born premature at 27 weeks and passed away after six weeks in the neonatal unit in Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

The book was published in memory of Sarah’s son to help bereaved families.

Arlo’s Adventure was illustrated by 11-year-old Karmen St-John Cain and supported by local charity Tabitha’s Trust.

The book is available to order here.
