KWC Yet to Make Payments on Govt Loan

King William’s College, Isle of Man

King William’s College has not made any repayments on its £2.26 million loan from the Department for Enterprise, but the first instalment is not due until January 2029.

A Freedom of Information response shows the full £2,256,395 was paid to the College on September 10, 2025.

Under the repayment schedule, the College is expected to repay the full amount, plus interest, on January 31, 2029.

If it cannot repay in full on that date, the agreement allows for two instalments: at least half in January 2029 and the remainder around September 2030.

The request also sought details on the Buchan site, which the College sold for £6.5 million, but details of any instalment schedule were withheld as they will appear in future financial statements.

Several areas were withheld under exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act, including personal information, legal advice and internal deliberations.

Financial statements for King William’s College, which will include further creditor information, are expected to be published within six months.
