Locally Written Play to Hit The Stage

In Their Blood, a new locally written play about the lives of Laxey miners, will open at King’s Court Theatre this Thursday.

Produced by the company behind the open air production of The Merchant of Venice and highly acclaimed Macbeth, In Their Blood revolves around the lives of miners and their families in the Isle of Man.

It explores themes of ambition, love, betrayal and the harsh realities of life in a mining community.

Locally Written

Directed by the well known David Dawson, the play follows Aldyn, a young miner with dreams of going to America to seek a better life with newly commissioned music, locally written and performed, to accompany the play.

Alex Armstrong, Co-Founder of Parodos said: “We are very excited to be producing this original piece of theatre which celebrates the Island’s heritage. A gripping tail expertly crafted by Orry Wilson.

“Having enjoyed success with our previous productions we wanted to provide an opportunity for new talent to showcase their work and we are confident the Manx public will love it.”

In Their Blood opens at King’s Court Theatre on August 14 at 7:30pm and runs each evening until August 16.

Tickets can be purchased on line at here or on the door.
