Manannan Suffers Generator Control Issue

The Steam Packet has apologised to passengers following the cancellation of Thursday morning’s sailings to and from Liverpool due to a control fault on the Manannan’s generator.

The vessel safely returned to Douglas after it was deemed unsafe to enter Liverpool, with passengers transferred to the Manxman for onward travel.

Coach transfers have been arranged for foot passengers between Liverpool and Heysham.

All affected passengers are eligible for a free transfer or full refund. Bookings can be amended online or by calling 01624 661 661 or 08722 992 992.

Managing Director Brian Thomson said: “We’re very sorry about these cancellations and we apologise for the disruption caused.

“We’re working hard to get things back on track as soon as we can. Our Reservations Team will do everything they can to ensure customers get where they need to go.”

Engineers are working to resolve the issue, with a further update expected by 1pm regarding afternoon sailings.
