Cybercrime is surging across the Isle of Man, leaving Manx businesses increasingly exposed to high level digital attacks.
Specialists warn that organised criminal syndicates are now deliberately targeting the island with far more sophisticated methods than seen before.
Ballasalla based UHY Crossley Forensics reports a sharp rise in cases, with some companies unknowingly infiltrated for months before funds are moved.
Head of Forensics Peter Allwright says the firm has already handled investigations where “revenue at risk was just shy of £1 billion” and has recovered more than £150 million for clients.
His team can examine compromised devices or cloud systems within an hour and deploy remote cyber agents to access servers worldwide.
Allwright warns that the scale and complexity of current attacks “exceeds the internal capability of the Isle of Man to protect itself,” adding that organised criminal groups are actively operating on and through the Island.
He says the firm “actively engages with the criminal syndicates,” using advanced forensic software and crisis‑response operations to identify offenders and trace stolen funds.
