Manx Singer-Songwriter Releases Debut Single

A young Isle of Man musician is marking an exciting milestone with the release of her first single.

Born and raised on the island, 21-year-old singer-songwriter and guitarist Elicia Smith has officially launched her debut track, But I Try.

Having sung for more than 15 years, Elicia has developed a distinctive sound known for its honest lyrics, emotional depth and relatable storytelling.

She writes all of her own music, drawing inspiration from contemporary artists including Gracie Abrams, Phoebe Bridgers and Renee Rapp.

But I Try introduces listeners to a heartfelt blend of vulnerability and melodic clarity, exploring themes of resilience, relationships and the realities of young adulthood.

Speaking about the release, Elicia said she hopes her music helps people feel understood, adding that her songs are rooted firmly in real-life experiences.

The single marks the first of several planned releases this year, as Elicia looks to grow her audience both on and beyond the Isle of Man.

But I Try is now available on all major streaming platforms.
