Manx Wildlife Trust’s (MWT) Community Ranger, Hannah Phillips, will be at Glastonbury helping The Wildlife Trusts spread the word on wildlife that can be found around the British Isles.
The Wildlife Trusts will be located in Woodsies. They’ll especially be talking about peatlands, which we have in the Isle of Man!
The Wildlife Trusts are focusing on peatlands at Glastonbury because there are vulnerable peatland habitats very close to Worthy Farm.
The Somerset Levels are beautiful and the digging up of peat to use in compost is a major issue there. Somerset Wildlife Trust is working hard to make sure the digging up of peat is stopped.
The Trust has deliberately created a welcoming space in Woodsies that awakens the senses while cooling and calming us down.
Glastonbury
Hannah won’t be the only Manx representative at the legendary festival, with our very own Mae Challis performing!
Mae will be performing at ‘The Tap House’ every evening of the festival from 7-9pm.
On her social media post, Mae writes, ‘Bit of a childhood dream coming true for me so I’m very proud to have been given the chance to play’.
