It was another excellent day for young Manx athletes competing at events across the water on Saturday.
A large group travelled to Blackpool for the opening day of the Lancashire Track and Field Championships at Stanley Park.
Five golds, four silvers and nine bronzes. Great performances all round, but fabulous from Taylor Kneen (300m), Seamus Hall (1500m), Eve Martin (1500m) and Mollie McMullan (1500m).
Meanwhile, Maisy‑Jo Faragher made an impressive step up in her first outing in the English Junior Fell Championships, competing in Round 1 at Sedbergh in the highly competitive U14 age group.
The course, 4.8km with 350m of climbing, represented a significant jump in both distance and elevation. Maisy handled it superbly, finishing 11th overall.
With Year 8 runners taking the top eight places and Year 7 athletes filling ninth and tenth, her result showed real determination against older, more experienced competition.
The tough half‑hour race underlined the demands of junior fell running, and Maisy’s performance marked an excellent start to the series for the Manx Fell Runners athlete.
