The Steam Packet has announced that their flagship vessel Manxman will be undertaking some ‘manoeuvers’ after its arrival in Douglas this evening.
It is likely they have issued the statement due to the close interest the 80,000 ‘Facebook Masters’ have taken in the operation of the ship since its arrival in Manx waters.
Just a heads up: Manxman will be undertaking some manoeuvers in Douglas Bay tonight once it has discharged its passengers and freight from Heysham. It should be back alongside by approx. 20:00 hours.

The Steam Packet has been forced to issue a number of ‘myth busting‘ statements since the arrival of the ship in the Summer.
Speculation
One can only imagine the range of wide speculation this evening if the ship was spotted out in the bay doing doughnuts, somersaults and other acrobatics, when it is usually quietly tied up alongside the Douglas harbour.
Of course we jest and for clarity: just for those taking this article too literally and thinking of watching this display, the manouvers are unlikely to include any form of acrobatics.
The fact is that the decision to take the ship out after disembarkation of passengers and freight is not some conspiracy (sadly for the theorists) about the vessel having something wrong, but merely routine and all part of the continued training and familiarisation of crew.
