The Steam Packet has can confirmed Manxman returned to Douglas this morning due to a medical emergency on board.
The incident occurred during the vessel’s scheduled 8am service to Heysham.
A company statement said: “Manxman’s crew coordinated with Isle of Man emergency services and an ambulance and paramedics attended when the vessel was alongside.
“The patient was treated on board then transferred to the ambulance to be taken to hospital.”
Manxman resumed its crossing to Heysham at 08:44am with the estimated time of arrival in Heysham at 12:05pm.
