Weather Forces Major MGP / Classic TT Event Reshuffle

The 2026 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT schedule has been overhauled after fresh weather modelling showed a severe deterioration from Wednesday 26 August, with heavy rain and strong winds expected to persist until the end of the event period.

Organisers have moved multiple races forward to take advantage of a clearer window between Saturday 22 and Tuesday 25, aiming to complete the full programme before conditions on the Mountain Course become unsafe. The revised timetable now concentrates racing across four consecutive days, with major races, including the Formula One, Historic Senior and Senior Classic TT, brought forward.

Worsening Weather

If racing is completed by Tuesday and worsening weather prevents further Mountain Course activity, the Classic TT will switch to an expanded off‑track programme centred on the Mercury Club and the John McGuinness MBE Exhibition, featuring rider appearances, chat shows, live podcasts and interviews.

Organisers thanked competitors, teams, marshals, residents and visitors for their flexibility as the event adapts to the forecast.
