Planning permission has been granted for the installation of a mineral wash plant at Billown Quarry on Foxdale Road in Ballasalla.
It will support local quarry operations by improving the processing of limestone previously considered waste.
The approval follows a planning application (reference 25/90717/B) submitted to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture earlier this year.
The new plant will allow stone covered in clay and dirt to be cleaned and made saleable, enhancing productivity for the quarry operator and potentially boosting the supply of local aggregates for construction and civil projects.
The site at Billown Quarry is part of a longstanding local industry, with Colas (IOM) Ltd operating quarrying and construction materials businesses there.
