This week has proved to be an exceptional week for Manx equine athletes, and today is no different as James Mister has qualified for the Nationals.
James and his own Graigueavern Forester qualified for the highlight of the dressage calendar, the Lemieux Dressage National Championships, earlier this week.
The dressage rider, who is also a full-time dressage trainer, and his 18-hand dancing partner travelled from the Isle of Man to Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre, Cheshire, for the Summer Regionals.
They finished third in the elementary class at the hotly contested event which gained them their ticket to Nationals.
The Road to Nationals
The duos road to the National Championships has been far from a stroll in the arena, as Mac, as he is known at home, suffered an injury earlier in the season.
James said: “Due to the injury Mac has been quite short of work and wasn’t feeling as fit as I’d have liked him to be, but he just gave me absolutely everything he had and I couldn’t be more pleased with him.”
Mac and James will head to Somerford Park for the Championships in September, where they will compete against many of the biggest names in the dressage world.
