The Mountain Road will close daily from 9am to 5pm between Ramsey and the Creg Ny Baa next week.
A DoI post said: “Every year the verges along the Mountain Road are cut, towards the end of July/start of August for both general road safety and to allow the Manx Grand Prix to be run safely.
“This is done under closed road conditions to keep our staff and contractors, together with the general public safe.”
In addition to verge cutting, other works include masonry repairs and tree felling.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture will also carry out essential tree work.
If weather allows, the southern section between the Bungalow and Creg Ny Baa may reopen early.
Access to the Victory Café, Snaefell Mountain Café, and Snaefell Mountain Railway will remain open via Tholt Y Will Road, while the Creg Ny Baa can be reached via Douglas and the Back Road.
