The closure of the Mountain Road has been extended until tomorrow afternoon due to poor weather.
The DOI said several sections of road were planed out yesterday in readiness to be re-laid today but the surface is wet.
The Mountain Road will remain closed between the Bungalow and Creg Ny Baa overnight.
It is now anticipated that the A18 Mountain Road will reopen at or about 4.30pm on Wednesday.
