A Douglas man has been fined after his car was found to be in an unroadworthy condition.
John Bridson, 20, admitted a single charge by post, with magistrates issuing him with a fine in his absence.
The court heard that on June 4 this year Police based at the Hairpin in Ramsey pulled Bridson over due to a concern over his car’s sun visor.
While there they noted several issues and seized the car for a full inspection.
It was later found to have numerous issues including a missing air bag, incorrect secured seats and seat belts, an oil leak, a battery that wasn’t properly secures and issues with its bodywork.
In a letter to the court, Bridson said he had bought the car in that state and accepted he should have made sure it was roadworthy.
He also apologised for the inconvenience he had caused the court.
Chairman David Christian said Bridson had been “rather naive” in his approach to the car and the panel of three magistrates agreed to fine him £600, plus £50 costs and endorse his licence with three points.
