Replacement fuel tank are to be installed at Pulrose Power Station
Manx Utilities is installing a replacement liquid fuel storage tank with work commencing on site in the coming weeks.
The fuel tanks at Pulrose have the capacity to sustain electricity supplies for the island for two weeks, in the event of other generation being unavailable.
Liquid fuel tanks need to be emptied regularly to carry out internal inspections and make repairs. The building of the replacement tank within the existing tank area will enable this essential maintenance to be carried out.
The new replacement tank will be built to the latest environmental safety standards and will enable the storage of non-fossil fuels in the future.
