Daytime road closures have started on the Beinn Y Phott road to allow for the instalment of road studs.
The daily road closures will be on weekdays between 9:30am and 4:30pm.
Initially work will be undertaken between the Brandywell junction with the Mountain Road and the junction with the Druidale Road.
New Studs
Before installation of the new studs takes place redundant cats eyes will be removed.
On narrow sections of the road the new studs will be positioned at the edge of carriageway on both sides of the road.
Where the road is wider studs will be installed in the centre of the road.
It is expected that work on this first section of road will take a week or more, at which stage works will move to the section of the road between Barregarrow Crossroads and the junction with Druidale.
