Fire Still Burns for Birchall

14-time TT winner Ben Birchall has partnered with experienced passenger Patrick Rosney as Birchall Racing prepares for the 2025 TT.

The duo will compete in the two three-lap Sidecar TT races aboard the Hager/Wyckham Blackwell LCR Honda, both targeting victory after securing second and fourth-place finishes respectively last year.

Last year marked Birchall’s first TT without his brother Tom, with whom he claimed 14 wins and two podiums between 2012 and 2023.

Partnered by Kevin Rousseau last year, a crash in practice saw them miss Race 1, but they stormed back in Race 2 with a 119.125mph lap to finish second—Ben’s 17th podium and Kevin’s first.

For 2025, Birchall has recruited Rosney, who has been a consistent top-ten finisher since his 2016 debut.

Rosney and former driver Lewis Blackstock achieved fourth in just their second year, with six more top-ten finishes and a personal best lap of 115.169mph in 2024.

Birchall said: “It’s taken a bit longer than anticipated but I’m delighted with the shape of the new team. Having Paddy on board for the whole season is a huge plus.

“Kevin was great, but he has World Championship commitments. Paddy ticks all the boxes—he’s fitted in great, and we’re both feeling confident.”

He added: “The desire to succeed at the TT is as strong as ever—the fire’s still burning.”
