Nigel Quaye will this weekend be competing in one of the toughest competitions on the planet as he heads to the World Ironman Championship.
The gruelling event is being held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Consists of a 2.4-mile open water swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a run of 26.2 miles, the race is described as “the ultimate test of body, mind and spirit”.
The Manx Tri Club said: “A huge achievement just to qualify and now he’s up against the best in the world!!”
Nigel won’t be the only Manx presence in Hawaii, as Dr Richard Callow will also be flying the flag in the championship.
The race starts on Saturday.
