No complaints about the misuse of emergency vehicle sirens have been received by any government department or emergency service.
The assurance came during a parliamentary session where Lawrie Hooper questioned whether the Justice in Home Affairs had recorded any reports of siren misuse.
Jane Poole-Wilson said the she had “not received complaints about misuse of emergency vehicle sirens”.
Mrs Poole-Wilson said: “I can also confirm there have been no complaints received by any of the three emergency services, nor by the joint control room – either formally or informally.”
The minister noted that updated driver training standards may increase public sightings of emergency vehicles using blue lights and sirens in coming weeks, but stressed all personnel follow strict protocols.
When Julie Edge asked whether response delays affected siren usage policies, the minister declined to comment on operational details.
Members of the public with concerns are advised to contact relevant emergency services directly.
