The Attorney General’s Chambers has confirmed it has no employees dedicated to the “green agenda”.
Walter Wannenburgh gave the answer following a question from Arbory, Castletown, and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
Mr Moorhouse had asked how many staff worked on green-related roles in the 2024/25 financial year, the full-time equivalent (FTE) and cost of such work, and any external spending in this area.
In his response, Attorney General Mr Wannenburgh said: “There are no employees in Chambers dedicated to ‘the green agenda’.
“Our staff provide support and assistance to departments, boards and offices generally: across our divisions such requests may occasionally include reference to the green agenda but it is not possible to specify which of that work is in response to such requests for advice and assistance.”
He added: “More generally, a staff member has been appointed as Chambers’ designated climate change champion who is carbon literacy accredited, and a Culture and Engagement Committee which considers initiatives to support climate change actions.”
On external work, Mr Wannenburgh said: “No work relating to the ‘green agenda’ has been commissioned externally by Chambers.”
