Several parents have been claimed that there was no heating on in some of the island’s high schools today.
Parents from St Ninians lower school (Bemahague) and at Castle Rushen High School said their children told them their schools have been cold since they returned from the Christmas break.
In the post on IOM What, Where, When and General Info 2025 🇮🇲, more than one parent said their child told them they had heard it was due to budgeting reasons.
There are also claims that children have been warned they could receive detentions for wearing coats and jumpers inside due to being cold.
In the post that has been shared widely on social media, parents said they have contacted the department about whether or not the schools have had heating on.
Manx.News has also contacted the Department of Education, Sport and Culture to address the claims raised.
