No NDA Signed by Minister

Infrastructure Minister Dr Michelle Haywood has said she did not sign a non-disclosure agreement to view key documents relating to the proposed offshore windfarm.

In response to a question in the House of Keys from Chris Thomas MHK, the Minister said she had seen the agreement for lease and a deed of variation in her official capacity. She confirmed the DoI is a party to the agreements.

“There has been no need for me to sign any non-disclosure agreement, to view the agreement for lease or the subsequent deed of variation. I have not signed an NDA, and therefore I cannot publish an NDA,” Dr Haywood said.

She explained her reason for viewing the documents, which have been the subject of FoI requests and Tynwald questions.

“I asked to see the agreement for lease because everyone seems to be making such a fuss about it. I wanted to see what the fuss was about.”

When asked if there was anything she wished to disclose about the documents’ contents, Dr Haywood replied: “No, there isn’t.”

She also confirmed she is not currently making any decisions regarding the lease or its clauses.
