The Isle of Man Constabulary says it has seen a sharp rise in custody demand this week, as officers also urge riders and drivers to take extra care on wet roads.
Heavy rain has left standing water across multiple routes and visibility is reduced, with police reminding visitors unfamiliar with Manx roads to ride and drive to the conditions.
Custody figures released today show a busy period for officers:
- Monday: 13 people detained
- Tuesday: 8 detained
- Wednesday: 12 detained
- Today: 3 so far
Police say several people have also been stopped at the ports, with arrests for producing drugs and some individuals now heading to court. The force says drug importation “will not be tolerated”.
With no racing today and poor weather, officers are asking people to enjoy TT responsibly, avoid overindulging, look after friends and never drink and drive.
The Constabulary added that the island continues to function as normal during TT, and is asking visitors to make decisions that help keep residents and other road users safe.
