Fines have been issued to three people and twenty-three businesses for income tax and national insurance related offences.
In total, magistrates issued fines totalling £40,665 yesterday (February 5) at Douglas Magistrates Court .
The fines were broken down as below:
- Failed to pay Income Tax Instalment Payments and/or Class 1 National Insurance Contributions by the due date – 21 corporates total fined £37,760.00
- Failed to submit Personal Income Tax Return Form(s) at the correct time – three individuals total fined £2,205.
- Failed to comply with a Notice to submit Accounts in support of a Tax Return – one corporate total fined £500.
- Failed to comply with a Notice to submit Accounts in support of a Tax Return – one corporate total fined £200.
With regards to the cases noted above, where the relevant return(s) or accounts remain outstanding, a Court Order was granted requiring the submission of those return form(s).
