Over 90k People Registered With Local GPs

Patient registrations across the island’s GP practices have stayed broadly steady over the past three years.

That is according to figures released in response to a written Tynwald question from Onchan MHK Julie Edge.

Health and Social Care Minister Claire Christian provided updated totals covering October 2022 through to 1 April 2026, showing only modest movement between practices and an overall register of around 90,000 patients.

The largest practices remain Ramsey/Jurby (14,938 patients), Palatine (10,125) and Kensington (9,859). Smaller practices such as Castletown (4,769) and Ballasalla (4,298) also reported slight year‑on‑year increases.

The Isle of Man Prison’s dedicated register continues to fluctuate, rising from 49 patients in 2022 to 163 this year.

Minister Christian said the figures demonstrate “a broadly stable overall position” across the island’s primary care system.
