Parish Walk Bus Changes

Bus Vannin has outlined how its bus services will be disrupted by tomorrow’s Parish Walk.

Douglas to Peel

The road is closed from Union Mills to Crosby between 0820 and 1030.

“The 0802, 0907, 0937 & 1007 Service 5/6 departures from Douglas (Lord Street) are permitted to travel between Union Mills and Crosby but may experience delays.”

To avoid peak congestion, the 0832 Service 6 departure from Douglas will divert via Spring Valley, Cooil Road, and Foxdale to St. Johns. Meanwhile, the 0815 & 0923 Service 6/6c departures from Peel will divert via Foxdale, Cooil, and Quarter Bridge to Peel Road.

The 0852 & 0952 Service 5 departures from Peel “are permitted to travel between Crosby and Union Mills but may experience delays.”

Port Erin and South

A one-way system between Mount Gawne Road and Ballakillowey Roundabout (1100-1430) will divert Service 1h and 2 buses via Church Road and Shore Road, skipping Colby and Ballabeg.

Peel Town Hall

Derby Road in Peel will be closed between Albany Road and Athol Place from 1230 to 1830, preventing buses from serving Peel Town Hall bus stop.

“Services to Douglas depart the Albany Road garage stop at 1 minute after the time scheduled for the Town Hall stop.”

“Buses for Ramsey depart the Supermarket Stop on Derby Road 1 minute after the time scheduled for the Town Hall stop.”

The 1607, 1707 & 1737 departures from Douglas will divert straight to the Supermarket stop on Derby Road, departing one minute after the scheduled Town Hall time.

Between 1430 and 2000, all Service 5 journeys to and from Ramsey will operate as 5c via Poortown Road and Cronk-y-Voddy, avoiding the Coast Road.

Peel to Kirk Michael Coast Road

A one-way system will be in place from 1330 to 1900, forcing diversions via Cronk-y-Voddy and Poortown Road.

Affected departures from Peel (Derby Road): 1451, 1646, 1746, 1846, and 1946.
From Kirk Michael: 1433, 1533, 1633, 1853, and 1953.

“Services 5c & 6c operate between Peel (Derby Road) and Kirk Michael as timetabled.

Sulby to Ramsey

A one-way system will run from Sulby to Ramsey from 2100 to 0400 (Sunday).

The 2310 Service 5a from Ramsey to Peel will divert via Jurby Road and St Judes, missing stops on Station Road, Bircham Avenue, Lezayre Road, and Ginger Hall.

Ramsey to Laxey

The road between Dhoon Glen and Minorca crossroads will be one-way (southwards) from 2100 until 0700 (Sunday).

The 2110, 2140, 2210, 2315, and 0015 services from Douglas to Ramsey will divert via Ballaragh Road.

Journeys from Ramsey to Douglas remain unchanged but “may be subject to slight delay due to walkers.”
