Plans Submitted for Former Beer Garden

Plans for former Waterfall pub’s beer garden in Glen Maye

An application has been submitted to build two semidetached homes in the beer garden of the former Waterfall pub in Glen Maye.

The plans, submitted by JIM LIMITED, also include proposals for a commercial building in part of the existing car park.

Earlier this year, the company received permission to knock down the pub, which has been closed for some years, to replace it with four terraced houses.

Each house would have it’s own garden to the front and rear, while the south elevation roof would have slate solar panels installed.

The commercial building, which the company wants to be used by the community, would have an internal floor space of approximately 48.4m2 and be set over one floor level.

The application says: “This commercial venture would give back to the community which is something that has been a cause of contention for many years with the local community whillst not creating or having any detrimental impact from a noise and/or disturbance persepctive.”
