Since the beginning of the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races the local constabulary have had to deal with several people entering closed roads, both in vehicles and on foot.
The IOM Constabulary says, “Not only does this cause a danger to racers, spectators, Marshalls and Travelling Marshalls who are moving around the course but it also causes the racing to be unnecessarily delayed”.
The force has warned that anybody who enters a closed road or does not follow the instructions of the Marshalls are liable for arrest and will likely end up before a court.
Closed roads
The force says it doesn’t want to ‘ruin anybody’s TT’, but this is a safety issue primarily, hence why it has to be dealt with as a matter of enforcement.
Should anybody be seen to enter closed roads then the force would encourage the public to call them immediately.
The police told Manx.News that it would like to ‘take this opportunity to thank the vast majority of the public for their cooperation and support over the period and wish everyone a safe TT’.
