UPDATE: Police have now located the man and say there is no ongoing risk to the public.
The Police say they are currently dealing with an incident in the North of the Island and advising residents in several areas to secure their windows and doors.
They have also warned anyone driving or on foot they if they are flagged down or approached by the man, not to stop or approach him.
Instead people are asked to secure your vehicle/remain at distance and call 999 immediately.
Officers sad: “Do not attempt to engage with this male. Residents in the Maughold, Laxey and Ramsey area should ensure their property is secure / doors and windows closed and locked.
“Should the below male present, stay within your address and Call 999 immediately. Do not engage or approach this male.”
