Nobles Park provided ideal conditions for the Primary Schools Cross-Country Championships, with warm sunshine and more than 290 young athletes tackling the course.
A superb turnout saw 150 boys and 145 girls tackle two laps of the upper park, producing competitive racing across the board.
Both individual champions were familiar faces on the local cross-country circuit, with Onchan’s Henry Quaye and Laxey’s Emira Bowden putting their experience to good use as they claimed convincing victories.

Presentation & Organisation
Prizes were presented by special guest Albert Johnson, the well-known charity marathon runner, adding an inspirational touch to the afternoon.
The event was expertly organised by Peter Lewis and Ray Cox, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, including pupils from St Ninian’s High School.
The championships once again showcased the depth of young running talent across the island and the strength of school sport.
