Firefighters in Rushen were sent to a property on Ballafurt Road in Port Erin yesterday evening.
On arrival the crew found the occupants had been alerted by their smoke detector and had evacuated the property. The cause was due to an item being left on the hob which had filled the property full of smoke.
Crews used a Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan to clear the property of smoke and were in attendance for 30 minutes.
