Geoffrey Pugh has announced he will stand for Glenfaba & Peel in the 2026 House of Keys General Election.
Pugh, a former Royal Navy officer who later held senior roles within the Isle of Man Government, including head of Air Traffic Control and serving as interim director of Isle of Man Airport, said the decision followed “careful thought” and reflected a long-standing commitment to public service.
He described himself as a proud Manxman who now wants to serve the island “in a different way”, saying his ambition is to help make the Isle of Man “one of the best places in the world you can choose to build an entire life”.
Pugh said he is standing on a belief that good decisions come from “listening carefully, weighing the evidence and using sound judgement”, rather than ideology. He set out promises to constituents including listening, asking difficult questions, communicating honestly, working hard, and always putting Glenfaba & Peel first.
Bringing People Together
“Politics shouldn’t just be about winning arguments,” he said. “It should be about understanding problems, bringing people together and turning good decisions into meaningful action.”
He plans to share more about his priorities in the coming weeks and encouraged residents to engage with his campaign, adding that “good politics doesn’t start with talking, it starts with listening.”
Also standing in Glenfaba and Peel is Katryna Baptist, Daniel Davison, Trevor Cowin, Colleen Dale-Beeton, James Hampton, Ray Harmer and Alex Perriam.
