Rachel is Crowned Customer Champion

Rachel Marsland of Terry’s Tato’s has been crowned Customer Service Champion.

Douglas’s finest customer service champions were celebrated at a ceremony in the City Council Chamber.

More than 5,500 public votes were cast in the awards, run by Douglas City Centre Management.

“I think great customer service is simple,” Rachel said. “Treat people how you’d like to be treated. Be kind, be present and make every customer feel welcome and appreciated. To receive this award is something we are extremely proud of.”

Kenny Susaya from TK Maxx who was named runner-up, with Connie Watson of Wine Down claiming third.

The other five finalists recognised for consistently delivering outstanding customer service were: Romilda Dentith at Café Royale; Nathan Stephens-Silverthorne at M&S; Mirella Annis at Boots; Daren Connor at TG Jones and Jack Bridson at Devereau’s

Mayor Steven Crellin said: “It is wonderful that so many people recognised the importance of excellent customer service and the vital role it plays in the future of our city centre. You should be extremely proud of yourselves.”

Douglas City Centre Manager, Oliver Cheshire, added: “I would like to add my congratulations to all eight finalists, staff who go above and beyond in their work each and every day and are all fantastic ambassadors for Douglas.

“Providing excellent customer service doesn’t just leave someone feeling happy in the moment; it gives them a reason to return. And that loyalty is invaluable.”
