A competitor taking part in the Manx National Rally has died after suffering a medical incident during the event.
In a statement, Motorsport UK said: “Motorsport UK, Manx Auto Sport and the Manx National Rally organising team are deeply saddened to confirm that a competitor participating in the Manx National Rally today has passed away following a medical incident during the Event.”
As a mark of respect, the stage where the incident happened will not be run again. The remainder of the rally will continue as scheduled.
Manx Auto Sport said: “We extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends and wider rally community at this very difficult time.”
The family has asked for privacy and no further details are being released at present.
