Lunch last Saturday (February 17) went ahead for Douglas Rugby Club, but without Birkenhead Park as the visiting team was unable to play as they were stuck circling overhead.
Fear not as the club still managed wonderful day with hosts Ramsey Crookall bringing a stellar guest list, and Phil Cringle impressed the full house of 60 with a Q & A session after dessert.
RC’s Joanna Crookall was suitably pleased with the event and it won’t be the last under their banner.
Douglas to play
The Manx side will have a rest weekend this Saturday (February 24), with the next match being away at Bowdon on March 2.
On April 6, Douglas will face Firwood Waterloo, which will be a day trip – which is a slight change of plan.
The team will get the boat out at 7am on the April 6 and boat back the same day on the 7pm from Liverpool.

Everyone is welcome, this is not just a lads and dads tour; ladies, mums and partners are encouraged to join us supporting the team on their last away match of the season.
The club is also planning a tour in August, which as ever, is pretty much open to anyone who enjoys a pint or rugby, preferably both!
