The Boyce Precision Engineering/Russell Racing team will return to this year’s TT with a streamlined one-rider lineup, fielding Ireland’s Mike Browne in the Supersport and Supertwin classes.
Browne, who secured seven top-ten finishes in 2023, will campaign the team’s Yamaha YZF-R6 in both Monster Energy Supersport races. In partnership with KMR, he will also contest the Metzeler Supertwin races.
Team owner Alister Russell, whose squad debuted in 2022 with Ian Hutchinson, expanded to two riders in 2023 with Dean Harrison and James Hillier, securing podium finishes. For 2024, Browne and Josh Brookes joined, with Browne setting a personal best Supersport lap of 126.858mph.
Russell said: “Last year saw Mike make a big step forward in the Supersport class… but we’re yet to see the best of him at the TT. Top five finishes are the firm target this year.”
Browne added: “I was disappointed with my Supersport result last year… I know Alister’s bikes are the best 600s on the grid. With a year’s experience, we’ll be looking to push on.”
The team will also collaborate with KMR for the Supertwin races. Russell said: “The bike is a proven race-winning package… Ryan [Farquhar] knows what it takes to win on the island.”
With Browne as their sole focus, the team aims to challenge for top honours in June.
