Sara’s on The Charge

Sara Ismail-Sutton splits her time between the Isle of Man and Durham where she is a student at Durham University.

She proved her running ability once again on Wednesday (April 30) evening.

This time last year Sara competed in her first race for eight years when she ran the fastest women’s leg in the Neptune Relays in Sedgefield, Stockton-on Tees.

This year she went even faster at the same meeting.

On The Charge

The event is for North Yorkshire and North East clubs, competing in men’s and women’s relays of four legs each approximately 1.7 miles in length around Hardwick Park.

More than 100 teams took part across all categories.

This year’s event was held on Wednesday evening, with Sara part of the women’s A team for Durham City Harriers.

For the second year in a row she ran the fastest women’s leg time, significantly improving last years’ time of 9:35 to a very impressive 9:10.

Sara is a very natural athlete who covers high mileage in training but clearly has good speed as well.

She competes only occasionally, but when she does it is always to a high level up to and including ultra-style events.
