Schools will remain open today (Thursday 8 February).
This follows an updated weather forecast which expects the arrival of snow earlier in the day but for higher ground only.
An amber weather warning remains in place for snow on areas above 800ft, from 5am this morning until 11pm tonight.
There may still be some disruption to travel for routes on higher ground, but due to a milder temperature with the updated forecast the majority of the Island is expected to see rain and sleet.
Residents are asked to please drive to the conditions.
