This precipitation turning persistent for much of the day as the easterly winds increase strong to gale force. Significant snow accumulation expected for the hills. Maximum temperature 4°C but with significant wind chill.

Further outbreaks of rain tomorrow this falling as sleet over higher ground. Fresh to strong east or northeast wind and a top temperature of 7°C.
