The 100th running of the Senior TT will reclaim its traditional slot on the Friday of race week when action returns to the Mountain Course in 2027, organisers have confirmed.
This move headlines a whole host of changes set to come into effect next year, including the axing of the second RL360 Superstock TT in favour of one four-lap contest, as bosses cite the need for greater contingency after a weather-disrupted 2026 edition.
The evolved nine-race schedule is as follows:

Qualifying remains unchanged, and will take place from Monday, May 31, to Friday, June 4.
The RST Superbike TT once again sees 1000cc machinery kick racing off, While Monster Energy Supersport Race 1 makes for the only scheduled race on the opening Sunday, allowing for greater flexibility.
The removal of the RL360 Superstock TT Race 2 further eases scheduling pressures, while the sidecars return for two outings over a reduced two lap distance, despite doubt being cast over their suitability for the track. It marks the opening gambit in a series of staged reforms to ensure three-wheeled racing is preserved at the TT.
Another long-called for change involves the reinstatement of the blue riband Senior TT to the final Friday of the festival, with contingency opportunities available on the Saturday to account for delays and cancellations.
Head of Motorsport at the Isle of Man TT Races, Paul Philips, said: “For 2027, we believe the right balance is nine substantial and clearly defined races.
“Moving from two Superstock races to one allows us to give the remaining Superstock race and both Sportbike races greater substance, create more recovery time within the programme and provide better protection around the Superbike and Senior TT’s.”
He added: “We also want the 100th Senior to be about much more than the race itself. It gives us an opportunity to celebrate the riders, motorcycles and extraordinary performances that have made it the most important race at the TT.”
The 100th Senior TT is set to be marked with a programme of special content, celebrating the race’s rich and significant history. Details will be announced in due course.
