The Manx NFU says a sheep has been found death in a river after being attacked by a dog.
It said the attack happened around Colby below the railway line.
The union said the sheep suffered “biting on face, hind quarters and foot was ripped”.
It added: “The dog/s chased the sheep into the river – because of injuries and a wet fleece it possibly drowned. Any sightings please let us know so farmer can report to police.
“People were seen leaving the area quickly.”
“On a visit to Peel today and so many people walking up those hills with loose dogs.
“Come on folks don’t cause such suffering, so easy just to put them on a lead!!”
