Hello, having started this, I’m now not sure it is necessary today, but since I have nothing better to do than listen to Tynwald, let’s roll with it!
Roads
The DoI says it has received multiple reports of trees and branches down at locations right across the Island.
It said: “We have teams out clearing roads, in most cases these are passable with care.”
Police are asking people to avoid the area of Garey Road, Ramsey and this is due to stay closed most of the day.
The Mountain Road will close from 1pm until 5pm this afternoon due to the red weather warning. It will be shut from Barrule Park to Creg ny Baa.
West Baldwin Road in Braddan is closed to through traffic between the junction with Mount Rule and the junction Ballamodda Road to facilitate the felling of a roadside tree that is in a dangerous condition.
In preparation for the predicted significant over-topping the following coastal roads will close to all traffic from 1pm:
Shore Road, Rushen between Gansey and Fishers Hill
The Promenade, Castletown
King Edward Road between Summerhill and Port Jack
The Promenade, Laxey
The seasonal parking on the walkway, Loch Promenade, Douglas has been suspended for the day.
The closures are in force until 4pm.
