Strike Timetable Published

The government has published the MER timetable for school children and commuters from Monday.

With bus drivers due to walk out over pay and conditions, the MER is being brought into action to provide cover.

The service includes a 07:25 departure from Ramsey, which the DoI says could serve as an alternative for commuters usually relying on the X3 bus service.

These services are treated as bus services with standard bus fares will apply on all services and School Children may use the relevant SCH travel cards to travel to and from school.

The usual principles used by bus vannin in terms of Go Silver, Go Gold, Go Places, Go Saver etc will all apply to these services too.

The timetable may be subject to revision following the first day of operation. Passengers are advised that due to ongoing track renewal works in the Ballaglass area, there may be slight delays to the times shown.

All stops other than Derby Castle, Laxey and Ramsey are request stops. Passengers are advised to inform the conductor upon boarding of their intended destination, as the trams are not fitted with stop buttons.

Link buses from Bus Vannin are expected to meet each arrival into Derby Castle to take passengers on to Lord Street.

If only they had a horse tram that went all the way!
