Noble’s Hospital has officially opened its new, purpose-built Stroke Unit on Ward 4, representing a significant development in its provision of care for stroke patients.
The unit features dedicated therapeutic spaces, modern bathroom amenities and a redeveloped courtyard to support patient rehabilitation and recovery.
Jill Horsey, Lead Stroke Nurse for Manx Care, said: “Stroke strikes suddenly, leaving no time to adapt. Accessible, specialised stroke unit care is proven to have the greatest impact on recovery.
“Thanks to the support of three charities, our new unit offers spacious indoor and outdoor rehabilitation areas designed to meet the needs of those affected by stroke. We are very excited to open this unit and improve stroke care on the Isle of Man.”
Dr Thomas, Consultant Physician, added: “It has been a long dream to have more space for our stroke patients, for their therapies and care. We are thankful to everyone who made this move possible.”
Rehab
The facility includes a fully-equipped gym and kitchen for tailored rehabilitation, along with accessible bathrooms designed for patient dignity and safety.
